Colby's new favorite ornament!

Look what my mailman brought me today! I asked my good friend Tray of Tray's Clay Things and Other Stuff to create a mermaid ornament for my daughter for Christmas. She is über-talented and her attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. The pictures don't do the sweet little mermaid justice.



Her mermaid fin is wrapped around a heart-shaped pink tree ornament and she's holding a pretty silver sand dollar. She's perfectly pink, super-sparkly, and my daughter loves her!



You can find more of her adorable hand-sculpted clay goodies in her eBay shop. Her creations are sure to bring a smile to your face, and she is always happy to work with you on custom orders.

I just added this new pincushion to our Etsy shop. This is the fabric combination my sister chose for my niece's nursery bedding...and I can't stop working with it for other projects! Love the color combo.



p.s. I've been asked many times where I found the spools of thread used in the picture for my Melon Stripes pincushion...they're from my grandma's sewing box, one of my favorite possessions!

1. I could eat cereal morning, noon and night. And often do!

2. The new show on SPEED called "Blow It Up" (currently part of Launch Hour) is shot at the Cordova Dragstrip near my hometown. An old friend raced my car on that strip.

3. I've never broken a bone or had a cavity...so far. Now I will probably fall down the steps and get a toothache tomorrow.

4. I am a fabric hoard. Well over 700 different prints! And a closet full of vintage chenille I can't bring myself to cut into.

5. I'm addicted to trying new recipes for chocolate chip cookies. Especially since hubby just bought me an orange kitchenaide! My Grandma's recipe is still our favorite. Although the last one from Martha was pretty close...:)

6. My idol is Shirley Muldowney.

7. One of my hobbies is researching our family's genealogy. I own software to do this.
